How long is the Adjustment of Status processing time?

If you haven’t already received visa petition approval, there are additional forms you will need to submit based on your individual situation. Please keep in mind that this can add processing time. Once you submit your packet, USCIS will review it for completeness. A determination will then be done on your case to see whether an interview is necessary.
What happens at the Adjustment of Status interview?
If necessary, after submitting your application packet, USCIS will call you, and possibly your petitioner (the U.S. citizen, resident, or employer who submitted your visa petition), for a required interview.
During the interview, a USCIS officer will review your application and ask you questions under oath to determine your eligibility. You must bring originals of all documentation submitted with your application.
Can you stay in the United States while waiting for a green card or adjusting status?
You may stay in the U.S. once your application has been submitted until you hear back from USCIS. This applies even if your permit to stay ends while USCIS is reviewing your application.
